Dr. Robinson's Retirement notice:

Dear valued patients, friends, and colleagues,

I am writing to formally announce my retirement from 2020 Eye Physicians effective December 31, 2024. After 34 years in practice, I feel confident that the practice I helped build is in an excellent position to continue to care for my patients and family.
Reflecting on my career, I am immensely proud of the work we have accomplished together. It has been a privilege to be part of the 2020 practice you know as well as teaching at the Eskanazi and VA hospitals and serving on over 30 mission trips to Guatemala and Panama. One constant of all these experiences has been the honor to collaborate with dedicated and talented teammates.
I mention my time teaching at the medical center as it allows me to see first hand the doctors who I would want to join and maintain 20/20 Eye Physicians. I was able to select Dr. Huang and Dr. Wentz, who in my opinion were the top surgeons from the program. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Drs. Wentz, Huang, and Tharp and the entire organization for giving me the opportunity to now step back and slow down.
As I transition into retirement, I expect your continued eye care to be easy and enjoyable. I plan to assist in all ways possible during this period to facilitate a seamless transition. While it is true I am looking forward to spending more time with my family and friends, I will truly miss my daily interactions with you and my staff.
Thank you once again for the incredible journey. I look forward to hearing from the remaining doctors and staff how my practice has continued to improve and serve.

Meet Our Team

Our team consists of ophthalmologists and optometrist who have spent years specializing in eye care. Our ophthalmologists and optometrists work together on the goal of providing the patient with the best care available. Our optometrists are medically trained eye doctors that can handle all medical aspects of ophthalmology while our ophthalmologists are trained surgeons who can treat your medical needs as well. No matter the title, our physicians will be able to answer any questions you may have and ensure that your treatment is tailored to your specific condition.

Daniel Robinson, M.D.
Dr. Daniel Robinson is a board-certified cataract surgeon.

Dr. Robinson graduated with his medical degree from the Indiana University Medical School, where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. His postgraduate training included an internship at St. Vincent Hospital and residency training at Indiana University Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident during his final year. He currently staffs resident cataract surgery at Eskenasi and VA hospital.

Dr. Robinson is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology, and is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

In addition to his training and practice experience, Dr. Robinson has made 28 charitable mission trips to perform numerous eye surgeries for the those living in Panama and Guatemala.

During his spare time, Dr. Robinson enjoys hiking, fishing, hunting, mountain biking, mushroom hunting, and traveling.

Amelia Huang, M.D.
Dr. Amelia Huang, pronounced "Wong", is a board-certified cataract and refractive surgeon. She specializes in advanced custom cataract, LASIK, and laser-based eye surgeries.

Prior to joining 20/20 Eye Physicians of Indiana in 2021, Dr. Huang graduated from St. Louis University, Summa Cum Laude, with her Bachelors in Occupational Science. She attended Indiana University School of Medicine, interned at St. Vincent Hospital, and completed her Ophthalmology residency at Indiana University where she was chief resident.

Dr. Huang is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, the American Medical Women Association, the American Medical Association, and and is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She has multiple publications and presentations as well as clinical research experience.

In addition to practice duties, Dr. Huang holds appointments at St. Vincent Hospital, Naab Road Surgery Center and Eagle Highland surgery center.

Outside of ophthalmology, Dr. Huang enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, and traveling. Some of her favorite destinations include Spain and Italy!

Scott Wentz, M.D.
Dr. Scott Wentz is a board-certified cataract and refractive surgeon. He specializes in advanced custom cataract, LASIK, and laser-based eye surgeries.

Prior to joining 20/20 Eye Physicians of Indiana in 2019, Dr. Wentz received his Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Butler University, Cum Laude. He then received his medical degree with the highest distinction from Indiana University School of Medicine, where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. His post-graduate training included Methodist Hospital transitional year Chief Resident and residency training at Indiana University Medical Center.

Dr. Wentz is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology, and is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He has multiple publications and presentations as well as clinical research experience.

In addition to his practice duties, Dr. Wentz holds appointments at St. Vincent Hospital, Naab Road Surgery Center, and Eagle Highland surgery center. He also staffs resident surgery at the VA hospital.

Outside of ophthalmology, Dr. Wentz enjoys spending time with family and friends, cycling, hiking, cooking, renovating his home, photography, and traveling.

Erica Tharp, O.D.
Dr. Erica Tharp is a licensed optometrist who joined 20/20 Eye Physicians of Indiana in 2024. She provides thorough and comprehensive eye care, and believes that patient involvement and education is the key to sustaining overall ocular health. Her special areas of interest include soft and hard contact lens fitting, as well as the care of patients with diabetes, glaucoma and macular degeneration and has a passion for the geriatric and underserved communities.

Dr. Tharp graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry where she was an associate instructor of clinical sciences, Prior to graduation, she completed externships in ocular disease, specialty contact lens fitting, pediatrics, low vison and primary care. Dr. Tharp was a founding member and president of the Pre-Optometry Club at IUPUI and a member of the NCAA Division I Women's softball team.
